RP: Hook versus the mermaid
May. 15th, 2013 10:59 amThe mermaids of Neverland, though enchantingly beautiful, held the top spot on Killian's list of "most dangerous things," and he found out the hard way about the truth of the stories he'd heard.
His first encounter with a mermaid had begun simply enough — with a quest for treasure. The map had led him and his crew to the mermaid lagoon, and though the hairs on the back of his neck raised with unease, Killian pressed forward. He really should've heeded the danger, but the key he needed to unlock the chest in the cave was in the lagoon. He just needed to con the mermaids into giving it up.
Kneeling beside the lagoon, he waited, grinning when a mermaid appeared. "Good evening, love, and a gorgeous one it is. I was wondering if you might be able to help me locate a key."

Milah frowned, staying back with the small group of crewmen, watching the interaction. To her, the creature looked washed-out and grey, somewhere between a drowned corpse and a fish's belly, but the men around her stared as though it was some great beauty. There had to be some sort of magic at play, she thought, pulling a vicious knife from her belt. Just in case.

He heard Milah draw her knife, but he lifted his hand, indicating she should stay still. He could handle himself just fine. Besides, how could such a lovely creature harm him?
